Hearing Protection: converting elect muffs to neckband style

I'd like to convert my Howard Leight Sport electronic muffs into neckband style so I can wear a boonie hat for sun protection. Anyone done this? I have an older pair of Peltor neckband muffs that I liked but one ear quit working a long time ago, common issue.

It looks like their $13 L1N neckband muffs (Amazon Prime) have the same connector as the Sport model. So swap the headband for the neckband. But there's a power cable, would have to do something with that.

I shoot in a warm climate a lot and these work well with a hat like a Boonie. They're not as good as good electronic muffs, but they work good and they are great versus sweating your fanny off in the hot weather under full muffs.

These work the same way but are pricier. I have a pair of these also but I don't find them to be any better than the cheaper ones. Maybe its a case of brand name versus generic.....?
