I just got a catolog and it has a guide gear scope in 6.5-20x50 for 69.97, should I buy it does anyone have experience with these scopes?

I am not familiar with this Guide Gear scope, but that is an awful lot of scope for the money and I've come to beleive that under a certain amount ($80.00 right now)you will get what you pay for in the end.

foxhntr69, I am not familiar with Guide Gear scopes either. I know the $69 seems like a deal to good to pass up but I think I would save that money and put it towards a different scope. That is so much cheaper than most variable scopes that quality must be sacrificed.

Ask a couple of our advertisers like The Optic Zone or SWFA. Even at $120 , that is still quite cheap for a variable power scope. Especially one of that high of power. I can tell you from experience, I am the king of cheap scopes. Or at least I was. Im as tight as they come with my money. If i had taken all the money I spent on cheap scopes that have broken or failed one way or another, I could of had fairly descent glass on all my rifles alot sooner than I did. I noticed that one of the optics advertisers here mentiond the Simmons Aetec scope. I have had several simmons scopes, and these have been the only ones that were worth a crap. As good a scope for as cheap a price as your gunna get.

Sorry, I can not help you on the Guide Gear Scope. Know nothing about them. But like Crapshoot, we do have the Simmons Aetec's on sale right now.
