Great horned owl and coyote conflict?

I call in owls all the time. Some land by the caller. Some circle. Some land in trees nearby. Actually had one land by the caller the other night on the same stand I killed a coyote on. I heard one earlier tonight actually. Heading in to my second set. No coyotes were spotted only called in one grey fox over 5 different setups

I had a bald eagle respond to the call first, and a few minutes later a coyote rolled in over the hill. The eagle disapproved of the coyote making a move on his rabbit. He made several dives on the coyote that ultimately pushed him away from me. He didn't get far enough away that I couldn't shoot him though. Pretty cool experience.

In 20 years of calling, have had one kestral knock a mojo critter down and struggle with it on the ground and lots of hawks & cara cara show an interest, but the only successful attacks in 20 years of calling all happened one morning w/two different owls and one harris hawk successfully stealing topper on three different stands. Link in post #20 above.
This owl hit the topper, dislodging it and flew off about 20 yards to "eat" his prize. After chewing on it unsuccessfully, he flew back over close to the decoy and walked right up to it, as if trying to figure out what had just happened. (The Foxpro was playing bird sounds, which he seemed to enjoy before flying off.)
