Competition Shooters???

We used to have a bunch of competitive shooters here back in the day, how many of you guys shoot competition and what discipline???
I had my 1st BR rifle built in 1988, Stolle Panda, Hart barrel, McMillan stock, Shilen 2 oz trigger, Leupold 36X in Kelbly rings, in 6PPC of course.

Then I added a Hunter BR gun to the mix, Stolle Kodiak, Hart barrel, McMillan stock, Jewell trigger, 6X Leupold in Kelbly rings, 1st barrel was a 308, everyone after was in 30x47.

Eventually got out of the 6 PPC game, and took up 1000 yard BR instead. Built several 1K guns, starting with 6.5-284's for a while before making the wholesale move to 6 Dashers. Set several club records and two IBS/World Records, so you could say I did alright. Shot a lot of 600 yard matches too.

Here's 62 lbs of Heavy Gun love:

I haven't competed for a couple years now, the flame has weakened after over 35 years of competition. I officially put my last remaining gun up for sale last fall. If anyone has the itch, it's a turn key weapon built by the best out there, with a brand new unfired barrel in 6 Dasher.

I started with local reduced high power matches shooting a CMP Garand and a Colt match H-bar. Did ok at those but the 200 yard course got boring pretty quickly. Tried a couple full length service rifle comps and 1000 yard service rifle. I enjoyed that much more. Then kids and sports came along so I took a break. Started shooting black powder rifle silhouette and loved it. My son was able to start shooting with me and we went to the nationals in Raton for several years and did pretty well there. He actually set a national record for Junior shooters. Now we are at the grandkids and sports stage so back on hold for the competition.

That's an artillery piece, Alf, not a rifle, the only thing missing is the wheels! Oh wait, I don't see a traversing knob, or is that on the back side of the picture? :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

My boys have been thinking about getting into the 6 Dasher game. Probably will be a new barrel screwed onto a savage 110 action. They are 13 and 16, but love shooting anything LR. They are wanting to have a LR gun to play with and also thermalize yotes with it. That is a pretty rifle for sure.
Here is my oldest 2 years ago winning the 100 yards iron buck at 14 yrs old.

Here is their night time obsession too.

I am a very blessed man to have two sons who love slinging projectiles as much as I do. My 4 daughters are all adults now and are 1 shot deer slayers too.
