I read somewhere once that a coyote could locate the source of a sound within 45 feet from a quarter mile away (440 yards)! I can't imagine lugging a blind or stand around and taking the time or making the noise to set the thing up. Not to mention the hassle of packing it. If it works for you, well go ahead. I wouldn't fool around with it for my hunting because I don't feel it neccesary. Wear decent camo, or even dull colored drab clothing that blends in, sit with a background that breaks up your outline, and learn to sit still for thiry minutes. Do this and you'll kill coyotes. Move and you'll spook coyotes. I've done that several times this year. I was anxious and excited to be out, the coyotes are responding, and I hadn't taken the time to relax. Choppy, jerky movements will give you away nearly everytime.
NOTE: If you don't like the full gillie suits, a 3D outfit is a good compromise. I have a lightweight mesh 3D parka I bought from L.L. Bean a few years back and it's great. It's easy to wear, has a nice camo pattern with fairly long "leaves" that flow with the wind currents, yet doesn't hang up in the brush. I haven't seen this parka listed for the last couple of years, but there are plenty of others on the market.
More importantly I think is letting myself settle down and become very Zen like. I know that sounds silly, but becoming one with the woods makes a difference. Nature doesn't watch a clock and 30 minutes is nothing in the outdoors. Leave the pace of society at the trailhead, settle down, and enjoy the scenery. You'll kill a few coyotes, enjoy God's great earth, and be fresh and relaxed when it comes time to go back to the grind of life in the fast lane.
