When I was younger, failure in the field bothered me... why? because I was immature and didn't know the true meaning of success. As I aged I became aware of the fact a kill doesn't equate to success.
Success for me now comes from various aspects of being afield.
1. I am healthy enough to go afield.
2. I have places to go.
3. Like already mentioned, I have learned to enjoy watching the woods come to life; I also enjoy watching animals prepare for nightfall.
4. I do my best thinking and life contemplation while afield, I find it extremely relaxing.
5. I now appreciate watching nature interact and animals going about their daily chores.
6. A harvest is simply icing on the cake.
Now days, a safe trip to and from the field is a success for me.
