I would think an SP60 external would be innately louder than what he’s running.

I guess you learn something new everyday.

The sp60 will make it louder, but it will be distorted more at 100% volume as the inferno just doesnt have the power to run it well. It will also absolutely eat the batteries of an inferno. It will make the call sound a lot better in the 50-75% volume range, especially the high and low notes.

Theres no replacement to just ponying up the cash and buying a better call.
