Call question

Hi, I have a foxpro inferno. Good little call and have had luck with it. I wonder if it is a tad quiet, could it be louder or is it just my ears? Getting old...too much waterfowling. Debating on stepping up in calls but not much. What call would be similar in use but maybe tad louder? Is the hellcat the next step up? I open to all brands as well. Just looking for more call expertise one easy to use call. Thanks for your time.

The only thing you’re going to gain going from your inferno to a “flagship” call, is features. 2 sounds at once, more sound capacity, Foxbang, etc.

Rabbit is rabbit. They’ll all kill coyotes.

If you’re wanting to “upgrade” just for a change of scenery or would like the new features or something, that’s one thing. I’m not telling you what to do, or what you can and can’t do obviously. I’m just trying to help people understand that a newer flagship call doesn’t have the “secret sound” or is going to be a ticket to have them come running in every stand compared to what you’ve got.

Whenever I upgraded to the x24 I started killing more coyotes because it's a lot louder than the call I upgraded from. It's also clearer at high volume. Not to mention, built better. So there are also other reasons to upgrade other than just features.

Getting to features... some of them just make the whole experience better. For example, one of my favorite with the higher end calls is that most already come with rechargeable battery packs.

I killed more coyote off a Foxpro Patriot and an External Speaker when I needed it, than my X4 and Shockwave combined. They all play rabbit. They’ll all kill coyotes. There’s plenty of new stuff out there, and it’s great. I’m not knocking anyone for trying it or liking it whatsoever. But my CS24 kills just the same as my shockwave and X4.

I’ve killed them with no call, using lip squeaks… literally.

What I’m trying to get through to people, is if you think when you spend $700 compared or $300, it magically kills more coyotes.. that’s not the case.

I remember setting up on a stand with my old hellcat, turning it on and accidently hit pup distress while I was trying TO SEE the remote. The volume was on "4" and coyotes blew up several hundred yards away, hell, I didn't figure they could even hear it. When I upgraded it was because of the features, mostly the TX1000 remote, It had larger font and was much easier to see at night, other features were a benefit. Old calls, new calls or reed calls all kill coyotes, I'd say "how you use the tool" you have is far more important than how new and fancy it is, IMO

I really don't need all the fancy features. Don't care about that stuff. Have killed plenty with this inferno. I would just like the 1000 remote and louder volume. If this inferno had that I'd be set for good.
Something as upgrading because of the remote is definitely feasible in my opinion, and granted this all just my opinion. I still have and love that old patriot I started with and definitely don’t miss the remote. The only advantage I really see to the volume is windy days, hence the reason I had that external aux speaker when I needed it. But again, that goes back to taking their hearing for granted, and it being more situation specific with terrain and such. I encourage people the next time they see a coyote out at 250+, just lip squeak. See how loud you have to get with just your lips to get a reaction. It’ll surprise most.

Yeah I get that 100%. Living in the dakotas where wind is very prevalent, I have my concerns? Is it reaching out far enough or is it being stolen by the wind? I don't hunt as much as I'd like because windy mornings that I feel are too much??

Is there a big difference between a hellcat pro and hellcat? Again, just looking for something similar to my inferno just better remote and tad louder. Maybe I can pick up a good used one.

This just goes back to the mental warfare of being a coyote hunter.

Is it to loud? Can they hear it though?

That’s just the physiological part of it. They have to be able to hear you to come to the call, but again, don’t take their hearing for granted. 😉

I'm using a Foxpro Hi-Jack and like the TX1000 remote, I can see it at night without issue. Seems there's enough volume for around here and we have plenty of 15-20mph wind, and it's small enough not to be cumbersome and awkward, suits my needs well. I'll elevate the call on a fence post, tree limb, or by using turkey decoy metal stakes

That's all that matters.

Verg, I have the Inferno and my neighbor has the HellCat Pro we have run them said by said and the HellCat is louder, if I was looking to buy I would go with the HellCat Pro it has the TX1000 remote and the rechargeable battery pack. I would get it from MFK there price is $599. come with sounds from FoxPro and extra MFK sounds.

Some are saying get the X24, I think but not sure that it has the same speaker as the HellCat Pro you can lock on FoxPro website at the specs on both. Good luck on your choice.
