Blurring the lines on accuracy quick attach vs dirrect thread

Just curious if anyone has tried a quick attach system that is getting the same accuracy results as the dirrect thread cans?

Yes, a lot of people are... I'm running a Rugged Surge 762 with the QD Brake mount, that once is seated is very repeatable, We are also running the TBAC 30 BA that is very repeatable once seated as well. We also use the SF SOCOM762-RC and the MB762L.

BUT, I still prefer direct thread for our work.

I am running a YHM-Stainless-30cal suppressor with a QD mount. My POI shifts 4 inches when I remove my suppressor but I can screw it right back on and be right back to zero.

Good suppressor with a top quality QD mount and you won't have any worries.

I have the same set up with the same results! Never have had to redo load development on any rifle either! they may be a little on the heavy side but there's not a better working work horse out there..IMO

I have a friend with the Titanium YHM 30 cal and he reports the same thing. Originally we had thought that the weight of the stainless suppressor was causing that much shift but his suppressor is almost half the weight and shifts about the same. But his groups stay tight with or without his suppressor.

My Gemtech titanium Sandstorms screw-on cans on my Sig 716 7.62/51mms all shift zero off by about four inches at 200 yards but I always leave them screwed on the barrels so no worries.

I have a couple of Silencerco Specwar QD that I move around on my 556 ARs and T/C Contenders, they do the same thing.

The cans obviously change the barrel harmonics when you have them on.

One of my buddies forgot to lock down his QD YHM can and I watched it sail 200 yards out across my backyard when he first tried to hit my 12" steel plate. Good thing it sailed over the alligator infested pond or he would have lost it.

I also have the yhm titanium in 30 cal can and my results are the same as above. I also have a sandman s with the qd system and it is the same way. I usually have 2 or 3 rifles with me and swapping the suppressor back and forth is very quick and easy.

Our CB brake is better than direct thread but is not a QD system. I don't consider TOMB mounts and QD mounts the same.

we had one gun that when we used the QD.[omega] the group opened up so bed we were going to redo the load.then we just went to the direct thread and it went back to a one hole group.so you can always try both.
