Belisle foot snare

I have been trying the Belisle foot snare on coyotes with terrible results. Been mostly using them for adc work where there are no snare holes. I cant use jawed traps here in Ca. Any body have any secrets how to help me hook em up?

Can you use the belisle? I have caught fox ,yotes and bocat with them no trouble. I think they would be a good tool where you couldnot use steel jaw traps. How were you using the belisle ?

We can use the belisle. i have used it much like the steel trap as a blind set. I might be using the wrong size,as the one that I got is also for wolves. I think it is a 9" ?

I use the fox and coyote 6 1/2 with 1/8 cable. I use flat set and dirt hole. Wolf would be good for mt lions.

seems like the snare never pulls tight to release the wire jaws. do you use the snare that comes with the trap? thanks for the help..

The animal pulls the snare tight. When the trap closes the animal fights the trap and throws the trap off but the snare stays on. Make sure you put the snare between the loose jaw and under the dog and don't forget to take the saftey off.

I should get a setting lesson from you guys on the Belisle.do you use the short snare that comes with it?

Yes use the short snare that comes with the trap.
