AR Triggers

I shoot bolt actions with 1lb. triggers on every rifle I own. Too light for most people but when you get used to it anything heavier than that is hard to shoot. I can not stand a two stage trigger personally.
Jard makes a set trigger for AR’s. Click the trigger forward and it sets the trigger around 13 ounces. You can shoot it without the set and it is 3 to 4lbs.
If you use the set and fire the rifle your next shot will be at the 3 to 4lbs. unless you set the trigger forward again.

Two stage, straight shoe Trigger tech diamonds and a 2 stage and Geissele dmr. Two stage Bix N Andy's and a trigger techs in my bolt guns.

All of mine are LaRue curved shoe. I squeezed my cousins flat trigger shoe and wish I had gotten the flats. There's a feedback to my brain as the rounded finger tip compresses flat that the round shoes don't provide.

For what it's worth.

If you are not in a hurry, they do come on sale at times for $95-$99ea.

RRA national match varmint blue card back awhile ago only had 0.156" pins. It now looks like they have changed that and they now have the 0.154" standard size pins.

Im really curious with the aftermarket triggers what the, i forget the correct terminology, lock times(hammer speed), reliability and how hard the primer is really being hit. I know what Im gaining by upgrading the trigger but what am I losing?

I always use the hard cup CCI450 primers and hunt in below 0f temperatures, -19f right now, Ive seen a lot of frozen hammers fail if the gun wasnt cleaned well enough.

I've shot Velocity, ARGold, RRA Varmint and i didnt like them a whole lot. The RRA isnt much of an upgrade that I could notice and the drop in triggers look to be built so light weight, the ARGold hammer is practically a little piece sheet metal.

I have a stock Aero trigger I worked on here and there for a couple years. I polished everything, bobbed the hammer and got one of those trigger adjusting screws, I wanted less travel than that so I had to file the rear part of the trigger for the safety to fit. I put in a light weight trigger reset spring but I have left the heavy stock hammer spring. Now its single stage with almost no felt travel and the trigger reset is great, its nothing like stock except the pull weight.

I would like a lighter pull but I dont want to pay hundreds for tiny springs and hammers. I prefer the wider stock triggers also, Im not a fan of the small hairpin triggers, probably because my fingers are too frozen....

I have, or have had about all of them at times. I like the Larue MBT, and i have them in a few rifles. I have 3 or 4 of the hyperfire triggers, and they are excellent. I haven't had a TT diamond in an ar, but I have a couple in bolt guns, and they are excellent (just don't get them dusty), but the best trigger I've ever had for an ar would have to be a timney Calvin elite, but they are high. They cost what a TT diamond costs, but i think they are worth it.

I have two RRA 2 stage Varmints that I really like, and just got a CMC 2.5lb single stage…not sure if I like the CMC yet, just messing around with it, I don’t really like it, but haven’t actually fired rounds with it at the range. I’d like to try the Larue 2 stage.
