8208

Had to run to Tulsa today so I stopped in a local Reloading shop and they had four 1lb jugs of 8208 on the shelf. $70 and tax. They still had four when I left. It is the first I have seen in quite some time.

It was indeed 8208. I held it in my hand as I looked at the $70 price tag. I use IMR 4895 in my 308 and it works extremely well. I use to use the 8208 in a few rifles until it became unobtainable then I weened them off of it. I've been seeing a lot of H4350 lately but I don't use it much anymore either. I know powder, primer and bullets are going up and seriously doubt they will ever come back down but until I don't have a choice I'll find something cheaper that works just as well.

I feel the pain. Been looking for Varget for several months and after loading some pills last week I am down to about 1-1/2#. Buddy called from Cabelas in Wheeling yesterday and said he had 2 bottles in hand at $68. They now have none, but it pained me!
