6mm arc bolt action opinions

Well, you all havent steered me in the wrong direction in the past, so the howa mini 20” bbl is on order. I did get the black hti model instead of the bbl action. Ive never bedded an action, installed flush cups or painted a stock before, so this will likely be my guinea pig. Got a 20 moa pic rail off amazon that i might clearance a bit to help with ejection (and potentially loading depending on future bottom metal). It will also get vortex rings, an athlon ares etr 3-18x50 and looking at the jefferson hinged floor plate bottom metal. Then when in stock a stockys carbon stock. Hopefully this will be a good recipe for dead coyotes! Thanks guys!

My Howa Mini 6mm ARC 20 inch HB with Athlon 2-12x42 scope and Burris steel rings I 8.6 lbs. With 75gr Speer HPs it is still sub MOA at 300 yards. I ran some 65gr BT Match bullets but they had to jump a long way to the lands but we're still quite accurate. I found like a box of 65gr Vmax on the bench and can load them out the the lands so will see how they do.

Glad the accuracy is holding solid for you aws. Im hopin the same holds true for factory ammo. I have a box of 80 gr eld-vt already, and ill try eld-m, x and black for sure as i find them. Also have my fingers crossed that more ammo companies will start producing 6 arc as well. Im not reloading yet, so ive got a lot of faith in hornady right now!

Is this cartridge giving similar damage on yotes as 243 or 6cm? In the end, i realize anything 6mm isnt going to be best, but i was hoping the lower velocity would be at least a little nicer on pelts.

58gr Vmax, 55gr NBT lead and LF, have worked well out of my 6mm-204. Even then you don't want to get close to the edges. Surprisingly 62gr VGs left huge exits. I'm not saving fur early this year so it will be interesting to see what this will do on these smaller southern coyotes. I've only shot a couple down here with my 6x45 with Nosler 55gr SP Shots.

Maybe the heavies will pass through with little damàge.

Anyone by chance running an optic with a 34mm scope body with 50mm obj on their mini?

Just got my 20 moa rail in the mail, waiting on rifle to ship still and scope is in the locker already. Trying to figure out how low of rings i can get away with. From the looks of my 204, i think the bolt handle will likely contact the scope while cycling before the bell contacts the bbl.

I have done 3 6mm ARC bolt guns. 1st was a Savage Axis was bought due to availability & while is shot rather well with my reloads the Mag feed & over feel left me sending it down the road rather quickly. Next was a re-barrel of a CZ527 w a 22" pacnor light contour barrel & this may be my favorite over all hunting rifle of all time.

My most recent 6mm ARC is a 22" Howa mini that was purchased as a Brownells barreled action. Picked up a factory 2nd carbon fiber stock & JO bottom metal. Not a bad rifle though I personally just like the CZ 527 better.

Not much help in your price line.

Have a buddy that picked up the Ruger Though I have never touched one so I can not honestly offer much on the Ruger. Though from what little I hear, I feel the Ruger may serve your needs well.

Thus far my favorite projectiles for deer hunting have been the 108 GR Elite hunter, 87 GR Absolute Hammer & the 90 GR CX. All have preformed very well & put a smile o my face when comparing to larger capacity cartridges.

Just starting to tinker with the lighter bullet offerings. May be able to share more B4 spring.

I've read that CZ was supposed to offer the 6mm ARC in the 600 Alpha line, but for whatever reason didn't. I have two of the 600 Alphas and would love to have one in 6 arc with the 20'' barrel.

I felt the CZ 600 initial thought process on the 600 would have been a plus for the consumer & was disappointed that the user swappable barrel idea had not worked out in practice. Suppose I am happy they have not offered the 600 in 6mm ARC as this has allowed be to avoid a purchase of a CZ 600 rifle.

I suspect you'll be pleasantly surprised. Wife shoots a Howa 6.5 CR .5 sub moa @200yds, the rifle and HER can shoot.
