223 AR loads

I have several 400 rd cases of factory Nosler 223 40 BT ammo. They are seated to coal of 2.260, have stickers "not recommended for use in AR rifles". The shape of the 40 gr BT will have the ogive below the case mouth if loaded to standard mag length(case at trim length). Using a modified mag, would allow seating a 40 a few hundredth below the ogive and a slight taper crimp maybe required to prevent bullet from inertia seating deeper into the case.

I bought some of those 400rnd cases 40gr BT 223 ammo cans a few years back when Nosler had a smoking good deal going on them. If I recall they were $99 and free shipping but like you mentioned they say not recommended for AR rifles. I called and talked to Nosler Techs about that and the Tech I talked to said it was a pressure issue. I guess this stuff is loaded fairly hot. I'm trying to think if I've ever shot any of it at all.

Have you shot any of it in a bolt gun or AR and if so what did you shoot it in and how well does it shoot??
