.204 Berger, Nosler and Speer TNT

I would have like to hear your question or thoughts.

Nosler dropped one of my favorite coyote calling bullet, the 32gr HP, I use it in my 20P carbine out to 200, I think I have a lifetime supply. 40gr NBT is in my open country 20P. The jury is still out on the 39gr Speer just haven't used enough. I do have some 32gr Hornady's to play with also.

I've been shooting a 40gr VMax in my .204 and had but all of them shot up on prairie dogs over the summer and decided to load up some 40gr Nosler BT, Berger 40gr Varmint HP and some 39gr Speer TNT HP.
The load for my 40gr Vmax was 25 1/2grs. of Accurate 2015 so I used this as a baseline for testing the new bullets.
The 40gr Berger shot the best group with this recipe shooting .563 group.
The 39gr Speer TNT held a .375 group on 4 shots and then opened up to .75 on the 5th shot.
The 40gr Nosler BT shot a .5" group of 4 shots and opened up on the 5th shot to .75 also.

What I wanted to know is how these all shot with the same recipe, so I answered my question. The Berger and the Speer are shooting well enough to move forward with a few more loads. The Nosler needs some more work to tighten them up a tad.

When cold snap lifts I can get back in the field and try one of these on coyotes.
Just something to do on a cold winter day. :)

@AWS... On our rather chunky NY coyotes the 32gr Vmax was a dismal performer, although incredibly accurate. The 40gr Vmax was a bit better terminally, but I had some splashes and unrecoverable runners. Minute of coyote accuracy as well. 40gr Nosler BT and the Berger 35gr hollow point worked exceptionally well on coyotes with the Berger getting the accuracy nod. I couldn’t get the 40gr Bergers to group from my two 12 twist 204 Ruger rifles. I think they would have been devastating as well. These were all factory loads, so you may be able to achieve better results with hand loading. I also don’t think your coyotes are as large and furry as ours get, so that may play into your findings as well. I haven’t tried the 39gr Speer.

I put the 32vm and 39 BK on the prairie dog shelf. Haven't tried the 39 tnt. I liked the 40 NBT out of my 20p, haven't tried it out of the 204. I've had good prairie dog accuracy with all of them, so hitting a coyote isn't an issue. What happens at the entrance is the issue. I've had such good results with the BIB 40 and Berger 40 it's hard to change, my 20 cal rifles have 10 twist barrels.
