18500 vs 18650 battery runtime comparisons

I have a Iray Bolt TH50v2 and considering getting a battery extender and some 18650 batteries. I have 4- 18500 batteries already, 2 came with scope and 2 from dealer that I purchased the scope from. Are the 18650 batteries worth it since I already have 4 of the regular batteries? I typically only do 4-5 stands per night when I go out. Thanks

Looks like the 18500 capacity tops out at 2040mAh. The longer 18650 can get you to 3500mAh which would translate to longer runtimes.

I guess it depends on how long your sets are and how you use your optic? If it’s working for you, stick with it. If you’re draining batteries too frequently for your liking, go bigger.

The 18500 specs 2 hr , 18650 3.5. Since you have 4 18500 I don't see why you need a 18650. A better course would be charge the internal between locations(if your traveling in a vehicle). Cold temps reduce battery life(just like in EV's) my neighbor sews a lot, I been thinking I need a custom neoprene scope cover that a toe warmer will fit in. Keeping the scope above freezing could double battery run time. And allow hunting below zero temps.
