Puma 480 Ruger lever action.....................

Ken
Never handled the 480 or 454 but did have a 357 & 44mag, the 44 was a sweet little carbine would shoot anything from 44spcl's to full house 44Mag ammo, action was nice and smooth you could crank the lever as fast as you could and it would feed fine.
The 357 on the other hand had the roughest action of any lever gun I ever had, it did smooth up with some work but would often get hung up with magnum brass, 38 spcl cycled fine.Based on my 44mag 92 clone I wouldn't be afraid to try a 480 Puma would make a fine brush or pig gun

I know. That is what scares me.

I would love another 480 to go with my revolver though.

My memory has failed me, but I know at one point Rossi lost the "contract" on making Pumas and an Italian maker started making them. Again, can't remember who right now. Soon as I'm done posting this, it will hit me

Did Rossi make ALL the 480s?

They are made by Chiappa and imported by Legacy Sports Int, but I think only Rossi made the 480 Puma I know Legacy doesen't list one now

I have 2 of the 480 ruger pumas
Got em off gun broker

$ 2150.00 for the blue steel, 20 inch hi viz sights, no competition,

The other a stainless 20 inch barrel
Standard steel sights,

Had the stainless Sent directly to alaskan ballistics youtube to do a show on it,

No show on it yet, but no hurry on my part ether, I said he could wack something edible b4 returning my way

Between gun broker and midway I have over 2000 cases, 1ce fired and new.

About 1000 loaded from bullshop@3rivers.net
In Dell, Montana

Also have the 480 rugar alaskan
A red hawk 7.5 barrel
A redhaw hawk 9.5 tank grey
And a 6.5 inch black hawk..

Got some one hole peep sights from Warren custom outdoors.

I do that truck driver thing nation wide, so I don't get to shoot every day like you guys

I read a lot about 475 linebaugh and know I'm 100 fps less

As some of you say, it's an expensive cartridge to get into,

And I am cured of getting anything else

I also have couple 444 marlin p outfitters

To any new guys reading this I would recommend you try a gary reeder 476
Or his 45-476

Then you will out do anything considered standard performance
