I hunted tonight with my buddies Michael and Ken. We had a great hunt getting 6 total. Two on each of three different stands.

We saw 4 on the 3rd stand coming from different directions at the same time but two were able to get out of sight before we had a good opportunity at them.

The first stand was two males that came from opposite directions.

Second was a female and male that came in from opposite directions.

Third stand was a pair….male and female.

Both females were young and dry. Apparently didn’t get bred.

I’m still learning about these critters even though I’ve been trapping them for years.
Am I wrong to assume that there could be other “pack members” around even though there might be a mating pair? I mean like hanging around with the pair?

I’m no expert for sure. They are very territorial but you are probably right……sometimes there are more around than just the mating pair.
