I miss the days of multi colored cattle. We had mostly shorthorn mixed with a lot of other stuff. Now they are mainly black Angus and Charolais mix. My mom and my uncle went to a beef tasting meal in Texas about 20 years ago. Basically it was a large group of people and about 7 different breeds of cattle. Longhorn hands down won the flavor contest and Angus won the tenderness category. (people voted and they didn't know what breed the samples were)
