Wow! I just went back and dug up some of these old Tackett and Wyatt pics trying to figure out how long they have been thwacking deer with a bow. Wyatt was 9, and Tackett was 11, back in 2020, when they both filled their first archery tag. They have filled doe tags every year. Wyatt has tagged a 6 pointer. Tackett has yet to tag a buck. He was close last year, but 4 bucks close to each other in early November usually don't play well together. The big 150 decided to run the other 3 over the hill. Chance gone in a micro second.
I am so blessed that they love the farm and outdoor life we live!
Sept 2020 ages 9 and 11. Here is Wyatt with his 1st bow kill.
Tackett scored his first in Oct 2020
Fast forward a year to fall of 2021, they definitely grew a little.
They were growing in the pic above....but HOLY COW! Here they are now in 2024 at the R100 in Moberly MO.
I am the little 6' 220lb guy on the left. They both exploded this last spring and summer. Wyatt is 13 and Tackett 15.
To wrap this up, here is Tackett's doe from this week. Perfect 12 ring(for quartering away), on a 65 yard shot.
Liver, diaphragm, both lungs and unfortunately he smacked the bottom bone on the far shoulder blade destroying the arrow and broadhead. Man they grow up fast! They went from 20lb bows to 70lb in a big hurry. Hopefully we will have several more "tag filled" pics for both of them for me to post this year.
Get a kid into archery! Fun stuff!
