What's your longest streak?

I'll start by saying that I very much attribute this to luck and not my coyote hunting prowess, but the last four calling sets I've done, I've shot a triple and three doubles.
Reference:

I'm thinking maybe I should just retire from hunting now.:D

Anyway, it made me wonder what some of you have had for streaks. How many stands in a row have you killed at least one coyote?
-- They don't have to all occur on the same day (mine didn't).

I think mine is 1. I can say for certain that when I first started this game hunting at night with lights, I kept track of such things UNTIL I hit 184 sets w/o seeing a critters eyes. At that point, I said, "quit counting or you will go crazy". I do keep track now with thermal and at time will still see over 20+ sets btwn sightings.

Best I’ve done is 12 stands in a row killing a coyote on each stand.

My best day calling was a very, very windy day, the type I usually stay home from.

We did 9 stands one afternoon, called in 9, one on each stand, and killed one.

I had a newbie with me and put him in position to get the shots, until the very last stand of the day, when I positioned myself in the best spot and I killed the coyote that came in.

I did go 33-34 coyotes straight without a miss, though.

Never really logged my consecutive stand kills or getting skunked, but from memory have two 2 consecutive stand kills of 5(2&3)both....
We've had numerous consecutive night kills with up to 10 in 3 nights- in a row....our best week was 21 killed(5 hunting nights).
I did have 3 consecutive stands of calling in 2/4/1 and only killing 1. Also had many consecutive stands of misses....

4 setups, but was over 3 days during a long weekend of spot and stalk. I watched coyote(s) move into cover in the morning and setup just before sunset to try calling them. Since than it has worked well enough that if I don't call one in and kill I wonder what happened to the coyote. Just re-enforces call where a coyote can hear the sound(s). 21 kills before a miss, numerous strings in the teens. A miss after a long string still bugs me.

The one I posted was kind of an interesting story. It was on the last day of a 3 1/2 day hunt. We had already killed 20 Coyotes the first 3 days. And we had to be home early on that Saturday.

So we were planning on making a few stands in the morning and heading for home at 10am. Well we get up and start calling at daylight, First stand we get a coyote, then second stand we get another and so on for the next couple hours. So we’re talking and saying we better get for home.

And I said ok first dry stand we’re out of here. Well needless to say that ended up being noon. And we had to really book to get home. It was worth being alittle late. We ended up with 32 coyotes in 3 1/2 days on that trip.

I have never kept numbers on consecutive stands. I have had hunts where I call them in on every stand and then I have hunts where it seems you cannot buy a coyote. I have also had nights where it is split, they respond good and then shut down or the opposite, they are not responding and then all at once turn on.

The most recent one that comes to mind was last spring. I drove out to an area and killed a coyote on the first stand and then it was blank stand after blank stand. Hunted almost all night discouraged and then around 4 AM I killed a triple, on the next stand I killed 4, on the next stand I killed 3 more, and then killed a single on the last stand.

"Went out Saturday night, and started slow.

Around 4 AM things picked up quickly with back-to-back stands killing multiples.
Here is a short highlight Reel;"

Kind of like Infidel's post, I've had coyotes on nearly every stand one day, and then nothing on another day.

At one time, I had a private duck hunting club that I had access to hunt coyotes on. In general, I could count on getting 2-3 coyotes every time I went, and I would go 2x a month from October through March. This property is 710 acres, and was thick with coyotes.

However, every now and again, I could hunt the entire property and not even see a coyote. I'd go back 10 days later, and I'd get my normal 2-3.

I still can't figure out why one day is great and another, seemingly identical day, was a skunk fest.

After hunting coyotes on it for about 20 years, the property got sold to the Colorado Division of Wildlife, and is now a public duck hunting property. No coyote hunting allowed.
