Whats the law on bobcats in Iowa?

I have heard two different stories. One says they are protected and cant be shot legally and the other says that there is no season for or against so you cant get in trouble either way. Can anyone clarify this for me?
 
Bobcats are still protected here in Iowa. Their population is growing at a fair pace, so I hope we get a hunting season on bobcats here very soon.
