I got out on Valentine’s Eve for a couple sets. Straight west wind. Coyote came from the south.
First kill since switching to the 75gr Vmax.
DRT
Second spot was a dud. Called it a night knowing I had a few good spots for the next night’s wind. I had been getting texts from a land owner that lets me hunt. He keeps getting day pics of a coyote. I was headed out to his spot first with high hopes. SE wind on Valentine’s Day playing breeding sounds with a known coyote in the area, what could be than that!! So of course nothing came in
It was kinda cool cause those birds you see in the video right after I shoot started chirping before I saw the coyote letting me know it was coming. I did have to move around the tripod and I think it saw me moving. Also, the set screw on my leveling head came loose and I had a heck of a time getting a good hold on my rifle with that head being loose. I hit it a bit low, but it never got up. Little female
First female of the year for me. Didn’t see any spotting on her. It started snowing pretty hard as I was recovering the coyote and I called it a night. Anyway, I’m pleased with the 75gr vmax so far. Feels good to get out of the 2 week slump I’ve been in.
