Two coyotes a day for two days.

JP7mag and I went coyote calling on Tuesday and yesterday and got two coyotes on each day. Tuesday I killed 2 with my shotgun at about 25 yards and 15 yards and on Thursday JP7mag killed 2 with his 243 Win at about 200 yards and 100 yards away.

We never know if we are going to need a rifle or a shotgun, so on most stands we have a shotgun and a rifle.

On Tuesday on the first stand I saw movement in the shade of a Juniper to my hard left. So I turned to my left and shot the coyote going away at about 25 yards.

A few stands later on a very steep mountain, I was laying down on my back and the sun was very bright to my left. After calling for about 10 minutes I saw movement very close to my X-24 and saw a big male coyote looking at my X-24 about 15 yards away from me. When I sat up to shoot the coyote looked at me just a split second before I shot him.

This is JP7mag holding up the big male coyote. You can see how steep the slope of the mountain was in the above picture.

Yesterday JP7mag shot the below coyote at about 200 yards away.
On the same calling stand a bobcat walked by behind me that I never saw.

Later in the day JP7mag shot a coyote with his rifle in some hilly country about 100 yards away.

Hopefully when the weather gets colder and the wind quits swirling the coyote calling will get better.

You and JP sure do look alike and his 243 got funny looking barrel :ROFLMAO: . I guess he is camera shy-tehee. Nice pics and I don't know how you hit that 15yder-had to have a 4" pattern.

How do you have 2 calls out like that? I went out with Scott Hampton a few months ago, we both went and setup our X24s apart but one remote would activate both calls. i did not think there was anyway to change the channels on the same calls.

oh and nice work BOB!

One of those is a SP-XHD external speaker and one of them is a X-24 e-caller. Using the X-24 and SP-XHD together really cranks up the volume and spreads out the sound.

Great work Bob. I started using two electronic calls along with a hand call and tripled my kill ratio last year.

Believe or not, my best coyote calls are open reed duck calls that produces great rabbit distress and another that works great for challenge howls.

Great work and pics Bob!

Txcoondog, I'd like to hear more details about using 2 calls. Do you set them some distance apart to simulate multiple animals?
