I have reloaded lots of TSS loads in 3" Fiocchi hulls. Are those magnum primers Fiocchi primers? I used BPI's TPS wads with Steel powder in my 3" fiocchi 1-1/2 oz TSS loads.
Look below at what KPY Shotshell Ballistics shows for penetration and pellet count for 1-1/2 oz TSS loads.
1300 fps TSS #4 shot gets 3.70" of penetration at 78.9 yards and has about 124 pellets in 1-1/2 oz.
1300 fps TSS #3 shot gets 3.70" of penetration at 96.8 yards and has about 100 pellets in 1-1/2 oz.
1300 fps TSS #2 shot gets 3.70" of penetration at 115.5 yards and has about 81 pellets in 1-1/2 oz.
1300 fps TSS #BB shot gets 3.70" of penetration at 175.2 yards and has about 47 pellets in 1-1/2 oz.
A few weeks ago I got excited and shot to quickly on a coyote that was less than 30 yards away with 1-1/2 oz of TSS #2 shot. I hit the coyote on all 3 shots but didn't hit the coyote with my full pattern centered on the coyote. This coyote ended up getting away from me.
When I first started shooting coyotes with denser than lead T shot "about 50 pellets per shell" and Rem HD BB shot " about 70 pellets per shell, it didn't take long to see that 70 good pellets killed coyotes more efficiently than 50 bad a$$ pellets did.
For killing coyotes at 70 yards and less 1-1/2 oz of TSS #3 shot with 100 pellets per shell will work much better than TSS BB shot with only about 47 pellets per shell.
Tyler I will send you a PM.
That is some good information
