There is an old post by DAA on TSS, not sure what it was called but he did extensive testing. It’s pretty amazing stuff.
He loaded 2 3/4 1 oz an 5/8 I think? And didn’t ever see a need to load 3” shells as it was a waste of shot. I recall when we were having lunch one day, I believe that he shot through a coyotes skull at 60+ yards with 4 shot (not 4 buck) yes good old pheasant load 4 shot.
