I should have mentioned how denser than lead shot and especially with TSS shot you don't need real high speed loads like you need with steel shot.
Steel shot is like a Ping Pong ball and TSS shot is like a Golf Ball.

1700 fps steel #3 shot slows down to 765 fps at 38.3 yards and penetrates 1.70" of gel at 38.3 yards.
1300 fps TSS #3 shot slows down to 902 fps at 38.3 yards and penetrates 5.67" of gel at 38.3 yards.
The 1700 fps steel #3 shot slows down 935 fps in that 38.3 yards. The 1300 fps TSS #3 shot slows down 398 fps in that 38.3 yards.
With TSS shot you don't need big shot or really fast shot for it to work great.
