Thermal clip-on recommendations

I have an Armasight Zeus 640 3-24x75. I believe I want to add a clip-on with a lrf. Open to almost anything that allows me to put it in front of a day scope.

Unfortunately a quality clip on is very expensive currently, a collimated unit is around 12k and currently none have integrated LRF and are usable to magnification over 20x. Eotech and POT are the current top dogs but I think that will change soon with Nvisions new clip on.

I've played with the ones in the 5k range and they are junk IMO and are not user friendly at all. Resale is horrible as well.

Nvision is supposed to start shipping the one shown at SHOT this summer and that's exactly what i would be waiting for. It is fully collimated, integrated LRF, usable image up to 25x and American made, running off non proprietary batteries and has Applied Ballistis software. 5yr warranty and supposed to be priced around 10k.

You got a link to this unit?

This is what they have posted on Instagram, it's not up yet on their website or any official pricing.

Thanks. Adding a bridge to support that is also Gona cost some serious coin. I don’t know a ton about clip ons, but from what I understand POI charges are an issue. I don’t know why, but that’s what I have heard from mutiple sources. You have thoughts on POI change from removing the clip on and putting it back on?

Yeah, the POI issues are from the NON collimated cheap stuff, it's why they have a zero function and why it's important to go through it every time it's removed and mounted.

The milspec collimated ones can be removed and remounted any time on any gun with no/very very minimal zero shift. That's exactly why there's a huge price gap and exactly why you hear all the complaints of the cheap stuff.

Honestly for simply shooting coyotes that are called a stand alone scope is a much cheaper option, lighter weight and perfectly suited. The only real reason to entertain a clip on is for engaging targets that you need to dial DOPE at very long distances along with daytime capabilities from a precision rifle.

We've been doing the exact same in the military for decades using NV like the PVS27, PVS30 and they are still extremely expensive as well. Thermal clip on is now another tool to change the battlefields.

You can also get POI shifts with the expensive stuff as well... We took out Leupolds head Optics Academy Instructor who had a PVS30 and it definitely needed to be re-collimated before we took him out.
I've chatted with Nvision about their new unit, and was really impressed with how they said it will operate.
