I pulled up to my buddies house tonight and he said that he just heard a pack across the road in his pasture. We heard them a few night ago when I was dropping him off after a hunt but it was too late for him to go after them.
We drove in and set up on a knoll. I howled and they answered straight out in front of us across a creek. A couple of more howls a few minutes apart and they did not answer. I switched to coyote yip pair and within a few minutes 2 came straight in committed. My buddies stopped but mine would not. I shot him running, DRT. My buddies ran when I shot but he killed her running. Mine was the male, 40.5lbs, his was the smaller female.
