Sitting on an east/west fenceline facing south, picked corn field behind me, picked bean field in front, wind from my left out of the west.

Standing corn to the east that I was hoping to suck one out of.

Finally at the 18 minute mark, one was sticking his head out of the weeds. He just stayed there for over 5 minutes, but wouldn't budge. I was pretty sure it was a coyote, but never saw anything but bits & pieces of his head, so I wasn't positive. Then he disappeared....

2 or 3 minutes later he finally stepped out of the weeds 75 yards or so to the south, and started making his way towards me. He had a odd movement as he was coming, and the video picks it up from there.

After the smoke cleared, I gathered up the caller and went to check him out.

Now I see why he had a hitch in his giddy-up, he was missing all of his foot on his left rear leg.

It was healed up nicely, so evidently an old injury.

Also, this was the first kill with the new X-Caliber barrel in 6x6.8 SPC, shooting 70 Ballistic Tips at 3275.

Very nice Alf. That's about 300 fps more than I can get out of my 6x45 with the 70 gr. BT's, but they still rock. Yours should be a flat out hammer.
