Stag Arms Model 6L

Looking for owners of Stag Arms Model 6L and the scopes they use,

I have a few questions regarding scope clearances.

What is the make and model of your scope? What are the #s 4 - 14 x 50 or what ever they happen to be. What size is the tube of your scope? 1", 30mm?

What type of mount do you use?

The reason I ask is because I want to get all this straightened out before my 6L arrives.

I may find myself on a tight schedule for an event and if I can get all my ducks in a row before hand I may actually get a chance to shoot this rifle before hand.

I do love a plan,

Thanks to all that help an old man, MJ52

I have a Nikon M-223 scope. It's a 3-12x42mm which means the magnification range is 3-12 power and the 42 is the objective diameter (how big the end of the scope is). The bigger, the more light they let in, but the average scope is about 40mm. It's a 1" tube scope which is the majority of hunting scopes, most tactical scopes are 30mm because they offer a wider field of view. Get whatever scope offers the most quality in your price range. As to mounts, for ARs people like one-piece mounts such as RRA Cantilever or Burris PEPR because they are cheap, the correct height, and put the scope farther forward as a lot of people shoot the scope nose-to-charging handle and need more eye relief. Hope this helps!

What kind of event? Anything under $800 you are wasting your money. I like Leupold's. Are you shooting paper or steel targets.

Night Force scopes are a good choice for $1500 to $2000.

You are shooting a 24in SS barrel You are going to have to break the barrel in. That is at least 150 rounds.

You better get busy.

Folks, thanks

So, a Nikon Buckmaster 4.5 -14 x 40 using a M223 mount should sit comfortably on the picatinny of a Stag Arms Model 6L.

The "Event" is an upcoming Known Distance (KD) with "Appleseed". For me its going to be a steep learning curve

Roky0702, if possible could you measure the height (to the center) of the M223 mount you use? I believe there are 2 models of the M223 as well. A standard one and a 2nd one with 20 MOA of elevation built into it ( I assume for real long distance shooting)

Thanks
