Beautiful call, beautiful piece of wood Lonehowl.

I used to get hedge apples from my uncle’s place. Had an older gentlemen (I worked with in the PT clinic) tell me that these were good to keep creepy crawlies away.

We had a house that had brown recluse spiders seemingly in every closet and corner and when my kids were small, was always skeered they’d get bit. I quartered those hedge apples up and placed under beds, in closets, and shelves. Even had ‘em in my garage a while. Never had any problems….not sure if it was the hedge apples though, lol.

Mother in Law had a partial stone basement in her old home, used hedge apples to keep the crawling things away. Lonehowl, have I asked you about a closed reed call voiced calf elk distressed? I have a cow/calf tag this year, would rather the cow walk to me.

Well I don’t really make one like that, bite reed , small open reed or diapragm calls are what I have to cover that
