Site-Pro crosshair illuminator?

Anybody tried one of these? I saw it in the Cabelas catolog and thought it might help with seeing the crosshairs on a night hunt. We can't use spotlights here in Iowa, so I might try to get out during bright moon nights if we ever get any snow. I can't quite tell how it works. Does it actually make my crosshairs glow red like the illustration they show? If so, it looks pretty cool and 25 bucks is sure cheap compared to "night vision" scopes (yikes!).

Grizz, me and a few guys I hunt with have these and they work real well in our opinion. We started using them to hunt hogs at night under a full moon. We are now using them to hunt varmints at night even while we use a spotlight. The light on these is adjustable and it illuminates your crosshairs to a white color, not red like what they show. The only thing I don't like about them is how you turn them on and off. You screw the back piece in and out instead of a using a button or small toggle. Parts are easy to get ( I lost the fiber optic piece that shines the light down the scope tube ) and they are not too expensive.

I have one also, it works well. If you have a fine duplex reticle however, it doesn't help a whole lot. The light shines into the eyepiece, the crosshairs simply reflect the light. So, if you have heavy or regular duplex, there is a lot of light reflected, while the fine duplex only reflects a small amount of light.
