For optics higher above bore than the "normal" 1.5 ". For example 2.5" 22-250 50 gr vmax(factory ammo @3800 ft) 1000 ft elevation. Parallax error(12x and higher) and spin drift, elevation, humidity, wind drift and barrel indexing can error stack slight variation from expected GRAVITATIONAL drop. Not having the reticle plum to the bore and or tilting the rifle is a big error inducing factor.

A zero at 250 yards results with

50 yards -0.4"
