Shotgun optics for night hunting

curious about a night time optic for shotgun hunting? What's everyone using?
seems like a 1x if it would withstand the recoil.
or maybe a red dot and barrel mounted light?

when i used a shotgun i used a barrel mounted red light and just the bead on the shotgun. then i switched to a red dot. i had to make sure the red dot could be seen in the red light. the red dot is a sig sauer romeo 5

I haven't carried a shotgun at night in quite awhile. Since about the time I quit shooting fox I guess. When I did, I ran a red dot with red light mounted below the barrel like bohunr. I never had a problem seeing the red dot against the wash of the red light. I ran an Ultradot 30 for the longest time and switched it up a few years ago to a Vortex Venom. I don't know anyone personally that runs a shotgun with night vision or thermal optic, so I can't help much there.

I have a Burris FastFire 3 on my 12g, it has performed flawlessly with a red light. There are better options now, but I don't use my 12g much anymore and haven't replaced it.

I kinda figured a red dot was the way to go. My Mossberg 930 is setup for turkeys with a Carlson turkey choke and a Leupold Delta Point Pro, and it slays turkeys without issue. Probably be good for yotes, just need to pattern it with different shot, etc

So what the opinions on running a thermal on a shotgun, with the tss shot a guy could kill one out to like 75 to 85 yards.
In addition to what 204 AR already mentioned above, you'd want to make sure the thermal was rated for the recoil.
