I have been using one of these for about 8 years. I prefer backing up to a mesquite bush for cover in the desert.
And the folding seat like your bottom pic for hunting in the hardwoods, especially nice when sitting on a side of a hill. You can fold one set of legs under and leave the other set out to kind of level you on a hillside.
