Scope sunshade - a good thing or just more bulk???

Most the time, no. But nice to have when needed. Also keeps glare/reflection off the front lense when you can't set up with the sun directly behind you.
I mostly hunt areas with little to no shade available.

Every time I set-up pre Dawn, and run into 1st couple hours of morning . Never fails that the glare of the Sunrise low horizon, Really Sucks . and me being me, I Always forget packing a Sunshade .. So I would say ..." yes ". for a Benefit Using .
.

I started shooting with a sun shade 26 years ago… I never shoot without one…. I have really enjoyed the results,, nothing to long..3 inch max…besides sun issues…it protects my lenses .. at least that is what I am thinking as I trip over some dam branch or hidden trip wire… gezzz😂😂🙈As always, your mileage may vary…

I might use one on a bench gun if shooting into the sun. My rifles won't fit in my scabbard with a sun shade so never use them for hunting and have never lost a predator because of it.

Thanks for the feedback, I'm only using one rifle with sunshade at the moment. It's not really any issue except fitting in scabbard or transporting to next stand and that is where i notice the bulk.
