Sanity check my treestand plans!

I'm also thinking about deer season already, heck, I never stopped. So, right now I'm lacking sorely for treestands. I'm planning on purchasing a basic treelounge for gun hunting. This will include the gun holder and large knob accessories.
Then, I'm gonna get an open front climber for bowhunting. I'm thinking of the Summit Broadhead Backpacker right now. Any one have any comments on these stands or better recommendations?
Thanks,
Jim

I have never used the Tree Lounge. I do have a Summit Viper and it is awesome. EXTREMELY comfortable and quiet. I would get the full size climber. It's not that heavy for me. I am 5"9 190lbs (all muscle of course) and have no problems hauling it a half a mile. If you are going to do a lot of long hiking with the climber I could see getting the Backpacker. I hunt private land and leave my climber in the woods.

I have a friend who just bought a TreeLounge (forget which model) this past year. He loves the thing. He said it was the most comfortable he's ever felt in a stand etc etc. I on the other hand LOVE my Summit Viper XLS. It weighs I think 19lbs and I, like LeadPoison, can pack that thing a mile or two with no problems carrying my bow. It just slings on your back like a backpack. Easy put-up and take-down. It did have a bit of clank walking in and out of the woods, but I put a rubber bungie around it and it is silent as can be. The backpacker models seem nice! I wonder what I would've chosen had they been available when I got my XLS. hmm.. Good luck in your decisions,

Matthew.

Well, I ordered the Tree Lounge on Sunday. We'll see how it does.
I have yet to hear a bad word about Summit, so I'll probably end up with a Viper or a Backpacker.
Thanks,
Jim
