Running out of excuses!

If there is any one thing I have learned from coyote hunting, golf, fishing and many other things, it’s that the failures are never your fault. It is ALWAYS the equipment…..until it’s NOT.

I went hunting today and had a miss that I normally wouldn’t have. It was one of a few this year. The kind of misses that leave you scratching your head and concluding, it can’t me me, it has to be the gun.

Well I decided to put things on paper for piece of mind. The proof is on paper, IT’S CLEARLY ME.

Don’t mind me using my old warranty manual from my pick up for a target.

I completely disagree with your assessment. It's pretty clear in the photo that your scope needs adjustment as you missing the black dot three times in a roll ;)

Like AWS said it will pass. It is the layup that I miss because I don't think like when I am trying to make a really long or tough shot. I too zero @ 200 never understood why guys zero at 100 yds

We can make this an excuse thread. Here's a few that you can use:

*gun powder is temp sensitive
*scope lost zero from vibration of the truck
*wind was blowing
*feet got cold from cheap boots
*restaurant messed up your eggs
*black cat crossed your path
* throat on gun barrel is getting loose
* tripod legs might have slipped
* shooting down hill

Add a few of these up and no one could have made that shot

Bad shot covers a lot of folks

Man I’ve had those before and they have you questioning your whole setup. I have video of one and have slowed it down atleast 30 times. Still don’t fully understand why I missed at such a close range shot. But I got the running shot and everyone coyote after that.

Maybe God had a few more rabbits and birds that coyote needed to eat.

I missed four in a roll and went home as I was frustrated. The next day, I went to the range and checked zero of course, it was dead on so the only thing I could come up with was......last night was their lucky night!

If you don’t miss, you ain’t hunting enough. It’s always the “easy” shots that are misses. It’s never the long shot or the sneak it through cover shot or even the running shot. It’s that coyote at 75yds or closer standing broadside saying kill me that has me replaying the video asking myself, “What the heck was that?!?!”

If none of the above work for you, feel free to use my favorite:
My bullet hit a bug.
