Ruger No 1 stocks

Why are they so hard to find? Lots of aftermarket 90% stocks but high$$ for what I'm (kinda) wanting to do and I have very limited tools for that sort of work.

Limited production, not a high usage rifle so most stay in good condition for a long time. #1 stocks were pretty good looking to start with so any upgrades would be a custom. #1's are very in demand, reliable and robust so there isn't very many broken down for parts.

I've found a few fore-ends on Ebay but no butt stocks. They just aren't out there. I just can't spend $500 on a semi finished stock and then screw it up for lack of tools and experience.
