Remote preset sounds, what are you using?

On Sunday I changed the order of the sounds on my FOXPRO Scorpion and FX5 so that both callers are the same. Then I set the four preset sounds so they are the same on both remotes. What sounds are you guys using on your presets? This past season I had Vole Squeaks at volume 18 on preset #1 and it worked great to pull in coyotes that had stopped while coming in. I don't even remember what I had on presets #2 & #3. On #4 preset I had Coyote Death Cry at volume 40. The first part of the season I was just using Coyote Death Cry to stop coyotes that were running away. It worked pretty good for stopping the coyotes. Then I started using Coyote Death Cry at the end of stands and called in quite a few coyotes with it. Please let me know your preset sounds and how you use them. Thanks

1. Coyote Bark 180 @ 40 volume - Freeze a hard charger
2. High Freq Sqeaks 517 @ 30 Volume - Pull in a stopped dog
3. Hurt Coyote Pup 179 @ 40 Volume - After the shot or if nothing shows
4. Jackrabbit distress 233 @ 20 Volume

1. Lightning Jack volume 20
2. Adult Cottontail volume 20
3. Ranting Red Bird volume 20
4. Coyote Death Cry volume 30

I do the same as you Bob, all 3 of my FX5's are programmed the same, as well as my Scorpion. That no matter which remote I pick up, I know it will have channel B and C on it and nothing will be different. To add to the analism, I also program Mike's FX5 the same, that way neither of us have any problems or confusion on stand no matter who's unit we are using.

1.distess sound
2.distres sound
3.chirping coaxer
4.coyote death cry
I change numbers 1 & 2 quite often as I have lots of distrss sounds and I like to mix them up.

Preset 3- Pup Distress 20
Preset 4- Coyote Death Cry 25

I change them from time to time. It just depends on the time of year I guess.

I don't have a fox pro,but a post like this is a good read.Like how you guys run your volume. And the choice of your sounds.I my self use hurt dog/hurt pup alot also. With about 90% rabbit and just enough other sounds to help keep thing fresh.

I can make that one by voice with unparalleled accuracy smart guy. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Thanks for the replies! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif I have Lightning Jack as the first sound on my remote and caller so I don't have it as a preset. If you guys have never used Vole Squeaks, give it a try as a coaxer. At least 7 or 8 times this past season it worked great for me. It brought in coyotes that had hung up and it also would stop coyotes that had come in and started to head out. Getting to watch how the coyotes reacted to Vole Squeaks was pretty neat.

Bob didn't we use vole squeaks to get that double to stop that were eating on the cow carcass in Globe????

Where you proned out and made the shot on that one??

He had to ask because there was never a chance he was going to here the sound anyway Bob... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Tim, I have the same problem. That is why I set the call 15 yards away and use volume 40. At 15 yards away I can see the call, hear the call and if a coyote comes up to the call I can see the coyote. Another advantage of using volume 40 is, it makes it easier for me to find the call if I take my eyes off of it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Lots of great ideas. I just got my FX5 back and I put;

1. coyote pup distress @ 30
2. rodent coaxer @ 15
3. male challenge howl #2 @ 35
4. coyote challenge howl @ 35

Not sure about the rodent coaxer. Usually I just lip squeak and haven't had a need for a coaxer, but it will be nice to get the sound away from me. I use the challenge howls and the coyote pup distress sounds all the time. It's gonna be so nice not having to search for sounds like I did on the FX3!!
