Recommendations to get a foxpro OFF the ground

This is probably the wrong place to post this but any recommendations to get a fox pro fusion off the ground if set up in the open? I thought about a camera tripod but there isn't a place on the bottom of the call to secure it. Wondering what some of you all have done for this.

Sorry, not the answer you are looking for, but a requirement for me is the call must have a 1/4" thread or allow the ability to mount an arca-swiss adapter plate. I always have my call on a tripod. It gives better remote range and amplifies the sound much better. If using something like a Krakatoa II or CS24, I use the hole in the metal handle to connect an ARCA Swiss adapter to the bottom of the call. I have never used a Fusion so not sure what the bottom looks like or if there is anyway to tap a hole.

I've thought about just a niece of rebar with a short arm and hook to hang it from the handle. Only problem with that is if the ground freezes really bad I wont ge able to stick the reverb in the ground.

GoPro makes a tripod adapter with their mount/screw on the other end... so if you could come up with a way to bolt or glue or tape or whatever the GoPro end of that adapter to your call, you'd have a standard tripod mount.... $5 item, might be worth a shot...

I have camera stuff laying around, so I use a Joby Gorilla Pod tripod for my call... works great. You can use it as a tripod for a little elevation or hang it in a tree, whatever... Kind of expensive to purchase just for that though.

I bought several shepherds hooks, they are three piece and I can add delete sections to accommodate grass and brush height.

They work great, toss a piece of camo cloth over them and good to go. Can also use brush/grass from surrounding area.

Kind of like these... might not work, I see you have to deal with frozen ground, not a problem here in central FL lol.

204, something like that is what I was thinking about doing. Yeah we dont have many yucca plants here but we [beeep] sure have plenty of cow patties! I plan to go to the farm store and sutherlands tomorrow and see what I can come up with.

I have a strap on mine that has clips near the handle. Works as a sling for carrying or to hang on a tree/fence post/bush. Only time it’s not beneficial is on open ground with nothing to hang it in. My shockwave is threaded for a tripod though.

Do you guys carry those things on every stand? Does it make that much of a difference in volume? Are you running it on full volume but still need more? I see a lot of guys are doing this and I kinda get it, I stick my call in a tree, bush or on a fence post when I can but have never really noticed a difference. I rarely run out of volume on my call, but I have not tested it to see how much better it would travel if it was 15” off the ground. What am I missing?

Maybe raising the ecaller off the ground comes from the old days of crummy speakers that weren't very loud? My newer Foxpro is WAY louder than my first one 15 years ago.

He is a pic how I used to do my shock wave, but like kirsch said you can do a Krakatoa or a cs24 through the hole in the handle with a washer and wing nut.

You can spend more money or use rebar or a lot of fancy things that take a lot of set up or you can go to Walmart and spend about $25 on a monopod or order one online and it will work fine. Just push it into the dirt or you can bungee to a fence post, tree or bush. It’s way lighter than lugging a tripod, rebar or the other gadgets around. Many people try and make it way to complicated

I was very frustrated to find that my new Fusion did not have a mounting hole. I took a very simple approach. I had a Primos trigger stick tripod laying around that I wasn't using. I just carry that with me and hang the handle of the call on the "V" gun rest on top. Simple and it gets the job done.

Well I grabbed a 50 inch camera tripod from Walmart this morning for 12 bucks, its silver so I grabbed some camo sand and OD spray paint. I have an extra V from my promos trigger stick I will probably just mount on there. Tripod weighs 1 pound so it's fairly light.

Don't have the Fusion, but did get my CS24 off the ground using a small tripod and camera quick connect. I would think you'd be able to glue the base to the Fusion. I removed the handle from the tripod and just ran a bolt up for the bottom part of the quick connect.

I used 1/4” piece of plexiglass, drilled & tapped 1/4/20 hole in center. Drilled small hole in each corner & 2 small bungee straps hold it onto caller. Bought cheap legs on eBay & they screw into 1/4/20 hole in the middle. I remove legs when placing caller in my shoulder bag or fanny pack or just carry caller with legs on it.

Also have a piece of cord & shower curtain hanger on the handle in case I want to hang from tree/ tree limb.

In the old days we hung them so that the remotes would work better. Too close to the ground and we had a problem controlling it. But I noticed that when I hung it up high, the coyotes would tend to circle underneath the call, giving me more opportunities to send them to the happy hunting grounds.

Now obviously we can't carry trees and bushes with us. But if you can get it up off the ground and then point the call towards the sky it tends to have the same effect. They seem to loose their lock on the source of the sound and hesitate.

A small tripod can work, but so can a small lantern shepherds hook that you can get at Lowe's or Home Depot. They are not that heavy and you can tape them to quiet them down.

Do you NEED to do this? No. Can it help? Anything that can get you a little extra time or an extra shot opportunity is worth it to me.

I have a camo carry bag with a strap on it. I put cardboard box dividers inside the bag that are about 6" tall. I carry my Foxpro Fusion, a SP-60 external speaker and a 12 volt battery inside the cardboard boxes inside the bag.

I put the bag on the ground and take the caller and speaker out of the bag and set them on top of the bag with the cardboard boxes in it. So my Fusion and SP-60 speaker are about 6" to 7" above ground level.

I like to have my caller bag in some grass, behind a small bush or in some rocks so my caller and speaker are not sitting in plain sight. Sometimes I will put the camo bag in a bush with the caller and speaker on top.

From what I have seen more coyotes will run right up to my caller if it is not in plain sight for the coyote to spot real easy from a distance.

If there is no cover at all sometimes I put the caller and speaker on the ground in front of the bag, to make a lower profile on the bare ground.

I have been using this same camo bag for about 11 years now.

In the above picture I had my caller bag, caller and speaker in a small bush to not make the caller so obvious.

This is how I have my Fusion and SP-60 speaker set up most of the time.

Range ball bucket, no legs to mess with, weighs next to nothing, quiet and non breakable.
