Pulsar Thermion 2 LRF XP60 and XG50 Comparison Video - Coyote Double Tap

My hunting buddy just upgraded scopes to a Pulsar Thermion 2 LRF XP60. He had been running an XP50. I'm still using my XG50 so now we're both using 3-24x scopes. I have been considering upgrading to the XP60 as well or maybe even the 4-32x XG60. I do like the additional field of view with the XP60. I have wondered how well the 17 micron sensor in the XP60 would work when increasing magnification versus the 12 micron sensor in the XG50. They look similar to me when increasing magnification to 12x or 24x, maybe a slight edge to the XG50 there from what I have seen so far. In the video below, I was standing about 5 feet to the right of my buddy. Note, I don't think he had his new scope focused or the brightness and contrast settings quite how he wanted them yet so this isn't an image quality comparison. However, both scopes being 3x base magnification, it looks like the XG50 has slightly more magnification to my eye. Just wanted to share a comparison video for anyone else on the fence about upgrading scopes. Fox Optics on YouTube has a great comparison of the 60 series thermions out too.

Hard to tell. be nice if both scopes were set at same settings. I see his is at normal and your is at high. Plus, contrast and brightness different. I did notice if you pause it at 12 power the 60 seem clearer. But again, that could be settings. both those scopes are better than what I have. only way I would upgrade is if you think you need the 4 power.

You do not even have the XP60 on the highest resolution setting....
