PTR Vent 1 short review

I saw the new Vent series silencers from PTR at SHOT 2024, and finally got one. The intended application was for a very gassy 6 ARC. I could not be happier.

The Vent has 7 patents pending (not sure if any have been granted), some of which have to do with their PIP (purposely induced porosity, aka, metal foam). This is a low back pressure can, not as low as a Huxworx, but unlike the Huxworx it is super quiet. There's a YT guy who tested it and it did better than some of the quietest cans.

It's 3D printed titanium, so it's relatively light weight. For reference, I have more than 20 tax stamps, so I've used a lot of cans. This thing is superb. It may be my favorite suppressor now, but I want to see how it does after hundreds of rounds.

I am using the direct thread option right now, but it will take any HUB mounts as well.

The 6 ARC I have is now gas-tamed and quiet. Part of the gas mitigation may have something to do with the RifleSpeed gas block I put on at the same time. I replaced another AGB, so that may not have made any difference. Also, I replaced the standard charging handle (that did have the RTV trick done to it) with a Radian Arms gas mitigating charging handle. I haven't had time or interest to test out which of the three made the most difference.
