You always hear about a company's bad service, so I thought I'd plug some good service. I had a Primos 350 yard Varmint Buster light, about 6-7 months old and the bulb blew. While trying to get the bulb out, I broke the light, my fault. I called Primos and was instructed to return the light. I didn't return the 6 volt battery and bag because of the added shipping weight and I thought they'd just fix mine and return. They shipped a new unit, but they shipped a 12 volt. I called back to inquire about using the light with a 6 volt battery, as I have two, and was told they would ship a new 12 volt battery, which was received in two days. Thanks Primos!!!

The 12 volt has more distance than the 6 volt, the twelve volt portable battery is almost twice as big as the 6 volt. I had a chance to use it this weekend and with the red lens in place, I could shoot out to at least 175 yards if not further, but there was a full moon too. I would guess it to be good to 150-175 yards in total darkness. With red lens up, I could see all the way to the woods on the other side of the field, which is 200 yards. Would probably shine further, don't know how far.

i just recently got a 250 yd. 6v from primos.fast shipping, havent had any problems with it.i hunt in thick forest more than open fields but im satisfied with the ammount of light it puts out.i can get maybe 75-100 yd.s of light with the red lense in thick forest before the brush breaks up the light too much.i normaly go out around 9 or so and stay till about 1 or 2.my light has lasted the whole time and even the next night on occassion.but i dont consistantly keep it on,i use a head lamp while i call, then i turn it on and scout when i hear movement.

My 6 volt would last for about 1-1 1/2 hours. You don't want to use it to scan very often. Don't know about the 12 volt, but I have an elevated platform that I shoot from and I'm going to place a 12 volt deep cycle battery down on the ground and run a cord directly to it. Shouldn't run out of juice. Don't know why I didn't get the 12 volt in the first place.

Primos is a great company. I met Will Primos last Saturday. He's a cool guy. I'm glad I got a chance to meet him. I had him autograph my hat too. I thought about having him autograph my 'lil dog calls but thought there wasn't enough room on them and though the marker would just wear off. In hindsight I wish I would have just had him Initial them. Would have been neat to hang on the wall. Nezt time, maybe.
