I would say yes to both questions, but I only have proof of one.

Not if he's a liberal bear. If he's a liberal bear, he poops in a zip lock bag, and hauls it to the nearest bear poop disposal site, so that it might be properly disposed of in a purely aesthetic manner, free from the prying eyes of all who might find bear poop in any way objectionable in the real world Kizmo.

Yeah... I'd say opossums are probably way up there on the menu of any hungry yotes that happen upon one; their defenses are pretty much limited to looking vicious. While they do pack a pretty good bite, their movements are pretty slow and any self respecting yote would tear one to pieces in short order.

Not in PA, at least in my part of PA. When I bait it is not unusual to have numerous animals eating on the bait at the same time. I've never seen fox and coyote but have seen coyote, opossums, and skunks all eating the same bait. Likewise I have seen fox with skunks and opossum at the same time.

You've got a point there!

I was just wandering I got trail cam pics with a possum and a coyote in it. And I shot a possum about a month ago and nothing touched it but they been tearing up the deer carcasses beside it.

Maybe your local yotes have the same opinion of possums that I got! I would have to be really really hungry before I'd eat one of those nasty things!!! As in hungry enough I might shoot a buzzard and try it first!

Folks around here will eat as many possums as you can bring them. If people will eat them, you can bet yotes will too. All is grist to their mill.

Can coyotes climb trees? Coyotes will eat anything that isn't on fire at the time.

When I was a kid our neighbor was a southerner. He and a friend would go out in the hills, tree possums with their dogs, sack them, bring them home and put them in a cage feeding them sweet potatoes for a couple of weeks. Then they'd kill and eat them.

ay yi yi shoulda just ate the sweet potatoes

Nope,as been said there would be no possums and I have yet to see any yote tracks around the possums I have killed during trapping season and tossed.I am talking 20 possums a season easy here in PA. Out of my 30 years of trapping I found no proof that coyotes eat possums. Possums crap green and let me tell you it does not smell good at all.Try catching a yote in a previous possum set when it crapped in that set. Good luck. I think the only thing that eats possums are crows and vultures around here.

And, other possums!

I've literally seen a possum stand in the road eating a pile of fresh green cow [beeep], looking at the truck coming, until we ran it over! I have literally seen them eat dead cows, starting at the anal orifice, eating the intestines first, while waiting on the remainder to rot, before eating it.

Could not pay me to eat a possum, no matter how many sweet taters you fed it first! Uhmmmm NO! I'd have to be starving to death to even remotely contemplate it!
