The first coyote I shot today had mange really bad. It was in wide open country and it stood broadside right at 200 yards away. It was my first coyote with my Ruger American 6mm Creedmoor. The Barnes 62 gr Varmint Grenade put
I took this picture where I called in the mangy coyote. I shot the coyote in the lower right had corner of the below picture.

On my next stand just before I started up my X-24 I heard a group of coyotes about 1,000 yards away where a big flat area runs into a ridge. The ridge is at least 1,500 yards long. Then I heard another group of coyotes on the same ridge about 500 yards away to my right.
So I played coyote pair sound one time through. The coyotes to my right did not like that coyote pair sound. They were mad and I could tell it by the sounds they were making. They went silent and about 15 seconds later, I started playing the MFK Pound Town sound. Then about 20 seconds after that I saw a coyote running towards me with it's head up looking around for a coyote to fight. Then I saw another one about 100 yards behind the first one. I grabbed my remote and muted the Pound Town sound to try and stop the two hard charging coyotes. It didn't work. While I was woofing at these two coyotes I saw a third coyote behind the first two coyotes.
All three of these coyote were looking around for coyotes to fight and went right by me about 100 yards away. They went over the little ridge I was laying prone on with my rifle. It was exciting but I never even fired a shot.
I started playing Pup Distress 3 sound and about 5 minutes later one coyote came back and was traveling much slower towards where the 3 coyotes came from. This coyote stopped and I dropped it with my rifle at about 150 yards.

It was getting late in the day so I did one more stand. After calling for at least 15 minutes I thought I saw some Tule Elk heads sticking up out of a low spot about 500 yards away. So I switched to Elk Calf in distress sound. It only too about 3 seconds for those elk to start running my way. They were within 20 yards of my X-24 in about one minute.
