Couldnt find it. Was likely nearby but 100% buried in snow. Usually when you spot them in the snow youll see some tines sticking out, but this one with only the base showing, i just thought that was cool, had to take a pic.To bad you couldn't the other one. Thats pretty cool.
There are definitely some guys that shed hunt seriously around here, with dogs and all. But they dont find them all. I regularly find sheds that are a year or two or 5 old. You actually live in georgia and hunt in wa, am i reading that right? That’s cool. I’ve found elk sheds in NM and Arizona while turkey hunting in some remote spots.
I’m always on the look out for moose sheds when hunting Washington and Idaho, but seeing this lets me know why I don’t find any. I’d imagine when the snow melts all the locals have scooped them up. Still hoping I’ll stumble across one this Spring!
I'm sure the squirrels will find it before you will. They love calcium. LOLCouldnt find it. Was likely nearby but 100% buried in snow. Usually when you spot them in the snow youll see some tines sticking out, but this one with only the base showing, i just thought that was cool, had to take a pic.
Ive found WAY more singles than matched sets. And most of the matched sets have been maybe 20-100 yards apart. Only ever found a few matched sets laying next to eachother. My favorite, toom a friend to look for moose paddles. Hed never found one. I told him, whoever sees it first, gets it. We kinda split up to worka hillside then met up on a non motorized logging rd and start to walk out. He starts looking at a pile f big mose turd clumps and saying thats gotta be a bull, look how big it is. I look over and see a matched set of fresh pristine paddles maybe 20 yards in front of him and ran over and scooped them up while he was busy being amazed by the turds. He didnt think it was as funny as i thought it was.My wife and I found 7 moose sheds last fall wife found a match set laying side by side we had a blast.
