Been trying to get in a few stands here and there. Not killing anything but having a good time. I think I'm the best deer caller in NY though. LOL Seems like they come in to everything but howls. Last night one snuck up within about 10 feet of me. When I turned and saw it, I was so startled I knocked my rifle off my shooting sticks and dang near crapped myself. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif She was just as spooked but would we believe she came back within 10 minutes? I was ready that time though.
Got a new headlamp and it's sweet! No more worrying about the lamp going out and I can carry a smaller battery for the scope light. I can see DEER eyes way off. If you're looking for a head lamp check out the Mity Max or something like the Coon Hunters Favorite series. Only problem I can see is how to keep my head warm when it gets real cold.
