Elections are over and so are those phone calls and commercials. Now I have a new gripe that chaps my hind end.
I'm growing sick and tired of going to the stores and being pandered by GIRLS wanting me to donate to the BOY SCOUTS of AMERICA.
I know it's not the kids fault but Damn!
I participated in the scouts from a young age. Earned my eagle scout. Worked at a scout summer camp one year. Went to Philmont high adventure camp in NM. Give it a couple more years and I bet the organization will be flat bankrupt and defunct. And that's a LOSS for male youth.

Rant over.

Your missing the point. It's not Boy Scouts of America any more, it's just Scouts. With welcoming all Gender Identities Equally. With the point being All Equal, and all being Scouts, equal, performing equal, rewarded equal. All at the lowest common denominator Scouts can provide.. It's a Brave New World my friend..... LOL

I stopped supporting both the boy and girl scouts years ago. All they are now is another arm of the lgbtqabc mob.

Guys, as a current Scoutmaster and dad of a recent Eagle, I'll say that I partly agree with what you're saying, but there's more to the story.

Yes, girls are now welcomed in Scouting America. This is not new or different. The scouting program has been coed in almost every other country for decades. What you need to know is that units are gender specific. My unit is only boys. Our church also charters a girl troop. Each charter org and unit has a lot of autonomy in how to implement the program. We strive for diversity but do not buy into all the woke crap. Our boys are still boys. Our adults are dedicated to being solid male role models to these boys so they learn to be men in today's world.

When you see a scout selling popcorn you should know that about 2/3 of the money raised stays local. Over a third goes directly to the scout to pay for his adventures. These youth are literally paying their own way. Another third stays with the council to directly implement the scouting program in the local area. I can attest to the direct benefits these youth get.

Like any other organization, we have our challenges, but most are foisted on us by the national management. At the local level scouting can be and is a great program for our youth. Try to see past the negative and embrace the positive. Hell, get involved with a local troop and share your knowledge of the great outdoors.

Been there, done that. Before they went woke.

They lost me when they started allowing homosexual scout masters.

I'm all for the girls learning the same stuff. Hell, adopt the same program and call it something else.

Our church was huge into the scouting program and entwined it with our young mens program...until they went woke. That's where there core values no longer aligned with gods teachings and the 2 organization parted ways.
and morally straight

Find a better charter org. Ours still holds true to the Scout Oath. National can't dictate that away. Your local unit can determine how the leadership is set up.

Let me share something. This weekend my troop camped in Guadalupe Mountains National Park. We climbed to the highest point in Texas. It's a tough hike and these boys did great. That's accomplishment. That has meaning. These guys wouldn't do that outside of scouting. The program encouraged that. We build toughness and resilience in these scouts.

That lady kneeling on the far left is one of our scout's moms. She is one of the toughest ladies I know. I've seen her carry a 45 pound backpack 50 miles in the Colorado high country. She did it better and with fewer complaints then most males I know. I don't want to be part of an organization that excludes that kind of person, that kind of role model, that kind of leader, because she doesn't have a penis.

That's great, Troy. Glad to know that there are still BOY scout troops available. Don't approve of this new woke garbage and gotta admit to not understanding what was wrong with the old Boy Scouts & Girl Scouts of my era. Guess I'm just gettin too old to accept this "modern" culture.:ROFLMAO:
Glad to know local units can choose not to embrace the co-ed program. Congratulations on your boys moxy!

I look at it this way Clarence. I'd be an awful big hypocrite if I said on one hand that I want my daughter to be a hunter, an outdoors woman, and a strong leader, while saying on the other saying that she's not good enough to be an Eagle Scout.

I want all of our American youth to be well rounded and capable. Scouts can do that. But only if good men and women step up. I'm not the best at anything, but I'm not going to let people say I didn't do my part to make sure the next generation is better than me.

Couldn't agree more, Troy, and admire your hard work to bring 'em up right, both at home and in especially volunteering your time in scouting. You've done an admirable job in keeping the whole family involved in hunting, camping, etc. Not finding fault at all! I'm just admitting to me personally having a hard time with the BSA national level choosing to integrate the boys & girls in the first place. As I said, glad to know the locals can still choose to continue w/separate programs.....as in equal.....but separate programs for boys & girls. ;)
